HOW TO VOLUNTEER AT ELIZABETH HOUSE

Drivers

We only pick up members who live in the Cookhams.   Morning pickups are done from the member’s home to arrive at Elizabeth House around 9.30/10.00am.   Afternoon pickups are done around 2.30/3.00pm.   You can choose what day(s) or time(s) suits you.

In-house

Morning shift – 9.30am to midday.   Serve coffee/tea and biscuits to members.   Help with food preparation for lunch (no cooking involved).   Lay the dining tables.

Lunchtime shift – midday to 2pm.   Serve the lunches.   Clear away the plates.   Serve coffee/tea.    OR do the washing up of cooking pots and pans, load the dishwasher with the plates.

Afternoon shift – 1.30 to 3pm.   Entertain the members – run a quiz, bingo, indoor games,  sing, dance, do a craft ……….

If any of the above ways of getting involved appeal to you, please contact our manager, Dawn Seeney, by phone 01628 527621 or by popping in.

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION SCHEME

The Trustees of Elizabeth House are truly grateful to all of the volunteers who help with the running of our Day Centre. We value the time and resources that the all volunteers freely give.

We wish to recognise this tremendous contribution through the Recognition Scheme that we have introduced in 2024.

Our intention is to introduce a range of ways that we say thank you.

Our prime gifts each year will be a 1 or 2 night stay at a hotel of your choice. We are delighted to be working with another charity called room to reward ( www.roomtoreward.org ) who are able to provide this to us completely free.

More details about how we will select the winners of the hotel stays can be found by selecting this link (Volunteer Recognition Scheme)
