Elizabeth House Volunteers

Elizabeth House relies on our many volunteers who give so generously of their time and energy. At least ten people are needed to assist on any one day, supporting the manager, administrator and cook.

We are always looking for volunteers to help either on a regular basis or as a backup for when people are on holiday or ill.

Do you have an hour or two to spare during the week? Would you like to help the team at Elizabeth House Day Centre? If so, we need volunteers to help with:

Making and serving morning coffee or afternoon tea

10am – 12noon: preparing and serving coffee, preparing lunch tables
1.30-3pm: Making tea, if needed

Helping with lunches

12noon-1.30pm: Serving out lunches (we have a cook), clearing tables, loading & unloading dishwasher, sweeping dining room floor.

Leading activities with our members

Our members enjoy a wide range of activities from bingo to play reading.

10am–11am: Collecting and transporting members to Elizabeth House
2.30pm: Taking members home from Elizabeth House

1.30-3.30pm: Dusting, vacuuming, cleaning cloakrooms, toilets, etc

Any time: Seasonal pruning & planting: tidying borders; weeding and litter clearance; sweeping paving; watering when required.

Fundraising and help with events

As required: helping with our fundraising events; selling raffle tickets, catering help for special events; helping with our activities programme.

If you would enjoy helping with any of these activities, please call Miriam Blazey on 01628 527621 to arrange a visit. Please print a copy of our volunteer form, complete it and send or bring it to us at Elizabeth House.
